Clinician Educator Pathway

The Clinician Educator pathway provides tailored training for a career as a clinician educator, preparing residents with a strong foundation of teaching in the inpatient setting.

 

Global Health Pathway

The Global Health Pathway in Internal Medicine is designed for residents who are considering a career in global health and wish to continue global health research, program-work, or teaching pursuits during residency. 

 

Health Equity Pathway

The goal of the Health Equity Pathway is to equip leaders in internal medicine with the knowledge, skills and commitment to apply anti-oppression frameworks to combat the structural origins of health disparities and inequities. 2021 marked the inaugural year for the Health Equity Pathway. 

Health Systems Pathway

In addition to excellent clinical training, we believe that all residents must have basic training in quality improvement/patient safety, and a functional understanding of the US health care system. The Health Systems Pathway is designed for residents who are interested in a career which incorporates both clinical care and improving our overall system of health care delivery. 

HIV Medicine Pathway

The HIV Medicine Pathway is designed for residents who are strongly interested in a primary care career caring for persons with HIV, whether abroad, in the WWAMI region, or elsewhere in the United States.

 

Physician Scientist Learning Pathway

This Physician Scientist learning pathway integrates residents who plan careers as physician-scientists in an environment supported by mentors, sponsors, and departmental commitment to developing the skills and experience for translational research.

 

VA Center of Excellence

The Seattle VA Center of Excellence (CoE) in Primary Care Education is a unique pathway within the Primary Care Track of the University of Washington Internal Medicine Residency Program. 

Women's Health Pathway

The goal of the Women's Health pathway is to develop physician leaders equipped to enter practice in urban or rural settings with a comprehensive skill set to provide care for women of all ages.
