VACATION
All trainees receive four weeks of vacation per year.
INSURANCE
Major medical, dental, basic life, accident, and long-term disability insurance plans are provided to all housestaff and their dependents. Optional supplemental life insurance and a flexible spending account for medical expenses are available through the University of Washington.
RETIREMENT
Residents and fellows are included in the UW Retirement Plan. Houestaff may also choose to participate in the UW Voluntary Investment Program (VIP), a tax-deferred retirement savings program.
OTHER BENEFITS
Housestaff are entitled to staff privileges at the University of Washington, including use of the libraries, on-line services, the Intramural Activities Building (with extensive sports facilities, equipment, and activities), and reduced prices on tickets for some sports and cultural activities. Other benefits include dependent care assistance, home-buying options, transportation, and employee discounts.
HOUSING
The program distributes informal listings for houses and apartments as they become available for rent and sale.
