Pathway Director
Assistant Professor
Division of Allergy & Infectious Diseases
Assistant Medical Director, Madison Clinic, Harborview Medical Center
Overview
The University of Washington Internal Medicine Residency HIV Medicine Pathway is a 3-year experience, available to two learners a year, designed for residents interested in a career caring for persons with HIV, whether in the WWAMI region, in the United States, or abroad.
The goal is to train general internists who, as part of their career, want to have a significant proportion of their practice devoted to caring for people with HIV. Although the pathway is not generally designed to be a springboard to an ID fellowship, some graduates of the program are fellowship trained.
The cornerstone of the pathway is the continuity clinic experience at the Madison Clinic, a Ryan White Funded Clinic at Harborview Medical Center, that serves as a medical home and provides both primary care and subspecialty care to ~3500 people with HIV in the Pacific Northwest.
Interested residents can apply to the pathway after Match Day.
